Riccardo Robustini holds a Postgraduate Course in Smart Cities at MIT, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master's Degree in Advanced Architecture Design in Collective Housing, held by the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid (UPM) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). He obtained his architectural and engineering degrees at the University of Bologna while spending two years as a visiting student at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV).

From the very beginning of his career, he has been profoundly influenced by nature, recognizing the vital role it plays in our lives as a fundamental component of our well-being.
In a world that is constantly evolving, he holds a strong belief in a design that finds a balance between the primordial and the modern. It represents a delicate dance between our primal instincts - where our homes are seen as both shelters and caves - and the demands of modern society, that drive his thoughts.
This approach is reflected in the constant temptation to play with opposing elements, in a harmonious way, to develop a design that enables us to experience ourselves as complete, embodied, and spiritual beings.
Before relocating to Dubai, Riccardo was involved with Juan Herreros Arquitectos in Madrid and with Open Building Research in Italy, on significant large-scale projects around the world, spanning Europe, the USA, China, and South America. Before founding UNICA Architects in 2014, he worked as Design Director for the office of H.H. The Crown Prince of Dubai, as well as Projects Director for X-Architects
Lorenzo Capucci holds a Master’s Degree in Advanced Architecture for Collective Housing from the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid (UPM) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). He earned his Degree in Architecture and Engineering at the University of Bologna, which he complemented by with a two-year period as a visiting student at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV).
From the beginning of his career, Lorenzo has been deeply engaged in the convergence of sustainable architecture principles and with the development of design tools to tackle environmental challenges.
His approach is characterized by an open, holistic, and human-centric perspective on architecture.
His professional journey spans significant experience in Spain with prominent architectural firms to Italy where he began an independent practice for housing, retail, industrial, and renovation projects.
In 2014 he co-founded UNICA Architects alongside Riccardo Robustini, and he is currently the Director of the firm's Italian office located in Bologna.
With UNICA Architects, Lorenzo has spearheaded diverse projects, consistently demonstrating his dedication to crafting spaces that transcend mere functionality. His designs embody a profound comprehension of architecture's potential to positively impact human experiences, also through the integration of sustainable design practices.

Our multidisciplinary team, dispersed across various parts of the world, plays a crucial role in the successful realization of each project. Comprised of architects, landscape architects, 3D visualizers, BIM experts, interior designers and supplemented by external consultants, they form the core of our studio. It is through their collaborative efforts that our projects come to life.
