The Immersive Restaurant Project was developed for Expo Dubai 2020 to create a sensorial and immersive architecture to emphasise the experience of food through advanced technological systems.
Starting with the Expo 2020 concept 'Connecting Minds, Creating The Future', our project fits into the Mobility Pavilion by representing this concept through an interactive experience that illustrates the path by which food, through time and space, has allowed cultures to come together and integrate, stimulating trade and technological innovations.

The architecture functions as an introduction to the experience, immersing visitors in a multi-sensory path that will prepare them to immerse themselves in a parallel world. Architecture engages the first four senses by design, leaving taste to dinner.

The experience area is divided into four functional areas:
The lounge - an open space to welcome guests with an aperitif while waiting for the food experience to begin.
The Immersive Room - An immersive room built with innovative interactive systems, for managing up to 60 guests on 2 imperial tables of 9 metres each.
The Control Room - A control room adjacent to the room for managing the room's technology and content and for coordinating the show.
Kitchen - A 30 m² kitchen area for the coordination of 4 shifts per day, 2 for lunch and 2 for dinner.
Inside the immersive room, guests, thanks to the presence of a storyteller, will be stimulated to embark on a new and unprecedented experience through interactive paths to discover the "spice Route interactive Menu".
The architecture functions as an introduction to the experience, immersing visitors in a multi-sensory path that will prepare them to immerse themselves in a parallel world. Architecture engages the first four senses by design, leaving taste to dinner.

The video installations will magically react to the gestures of the storyteller, the chef and the diners, generating unpredictable reactions, such as trails and explosions of coloured particles, linked to the world of spices and the Food Concept and accompanied by dynamic sound effects. Each chef, during the Food Experience, will be visible on the wall projected in front of diners thanks to a high-definition 3D particle system.
Incredible live performances, linked to the symphony of the cosmos, will entertain participants during the experience. Acrobatic shows and interactive dances, perfectly embedded in the sets of the immersive room and synchronised with music and sound design, will provide participants with a unique and surprising spectacle.
